This month saw the second All Ireland Fleadh taking place in Cavan, Ireland. The ” Dome ” saw fantastic concerts all week, with Sharon Shannon, Donal Lunny and Coirras, and on the final night Frankie Gavin and De Dannan.
Vincent and Adam were looking after all things technical, the Nexo Geo system was really hopping!

Harvest Time Blues In Monaghan

This weekend its the Harvest Time Blues Festival, and as usual Panic are providing the sound and lighting for the main stage in the marquee.

The NEXO system will be there with the Allen and Heath iLive out front and the ML3000 on monitor duty.

Nexo Geo-system Line Array

Panic Sound and Light have now taken delivery of a NEXO Geo S12 Line Array speaker system. We have now eight S12 and four GS15 Subs, along with the NEXO NX4×4 Amplifier. This lightweight amplifier  delivers an impressive 16kWatts of audio power.

We will be using this system in the coming week at Fleadh 2010 in Cavan, at the Gig rig. There is a terriffic line up of music there, from Wednesday until Sunday night, when at 9pm we will be treated to the music of Sharon Shannon and band. Lets hope the weather keeps up!

Les Miserables in St Louis Carrickmacross

In March Panic Sound and Lighting supplied the sound and lighting requirements for the school version of Les Miserables in Carrickmacross Co Monaghan.

The show was produced completely in the school, with help from the Music, Art, English and Home Economics Depts.

It was Directed by Sonia Sexton and the whole thing was co-ordinated by Sr Marie Byrne.

The Allen and Heath iLive once again did the trick, with the show being saved, as now we are doing it again in Glenties In Donegal!!

Guys and Dolls in St Macartan’s College

Last night, Thursday, the guys (and dolls!!) from St Macartan’s were visited by the ladies from St Louis secondary school, who recently staged Thoroughly Modern Millie. The girls really enjoyed the production last night, my ears are still ringing  from the noise!!!

Guys and Dolls is finishing tonight, and well done to everyone concerned, and particularly to the head of the technical crew Caomh Tibby, who was 100% reliable and did a super job.

Dick Whittington arrives in Monaghan

Dick Whittington is in town at The Garage Theatre in Monaghan.

Monaghan Dramatic Society is putting on its annual pantomime this weekend Friday 29, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 and next weekend February Friday 5, Saturday 6 and finishing Sunday 7.

Panic Sound are supplying the sound system for this event as usual. We will be using 18 wireless mics with Vortexion Earworn mics, and a Vortexion AS24 24 channel mixer.

St Macartan’s College Musical

This week we are involved with the musical in St Macartan’s College, Monaghan. Their production is Guys and Dolls, a lighthearted story of romance and gambling!! As part of a program to teach a little bit about live theatre sound and lighting to a group of transition year students, we supervise the operation of the sound and lighting systems for the musical.
The show opened last night with great energy, and runs tonight (Wednesday), Thursday and Friday.

In the last few days we have received a delivery of FAL (from Italy, www.FAL.it) theatre lights. We now have a large stock of 500/650 watt fresnels, pcs and cyc lamps, and 1000watt fresnels, pcs and cyc lamps. We also have 600 watt  axial profile spots, with light output close to standard 1000 watt profiles.
