Panic Sound and Lighting Hire

Welcome to our very first blog!

Panic Sound and Light is a sound and lighting hire company, servicing the north and north east of Ireland. We were established in1987, 22 years ago. Things have come such a long way since then, both technologically and commercially. I can remember buying four VHF radio mics then, at a huge cost, I think the best part of two thousand pounds at the time. I don’t know what that would be in today’s value. Back to the mics, they were quite useless, the technology was so unreliable, but now radio mics are standard issue, very reliable and no-one thinks twice about using a system with 20 or more!

Our main lines in the hire department are supplying systems to musical theatre, and during the summer, providing outdoor PA systems for sporting, equestrian and similar event.

We are innovative in our approach, generally trying to come up with new effective solutions to everyday problems. We have developed many bits and pieces of equipment in house when we could not find what we wanted commercially available. Many of these items have become good sellers too, as other companies realise that we have come up with a clever solution to some problem. The best known of these is nicknamed the ‘trolley’. Its a clever device that make setting up a small or medium sized outdoor PA a breeze. Its a safe effective weatherproof solution. Our ideas are often copied!!!

We were also the first company to use a hydraulic platform as a mobile tower for outdoor horn loudspeakers. Our units are seen and heard at events all over the country, and again copied by many others.
